The Beginning

Happy Birthday Armin Shimerman!

Today we celebrate the birth of the man who gave life to Deep Space 9. Quark MADE that show, resurrecting what I considered a failed new species introduced in Star Trek, The Next Generation: the Ferengi. I loathed TNG episodes featuring the Ferengi when I was a kid, and the word became an insult in my geeky house. But Quark changed all of that, and made DS9 worth watching. I came to love Rom and Nog as the characters developed and the Ferengi established themselves in Star Trek cannon with guidance from the Rules of Acquisition, under the rule of the Grand Nagus. I wil try to catalogue some gems from Quark and the Ferengi here. Just because.
